"The other, at each moment destroys and overflows the plastic image it leaves me."  - Emmanuel Levinas

I am intrigued by the limits in experiencing and recalling landscape. My process of painting is a search for the past experience in nature, as it grows, takes shape and becomes something new. As I manipulate these surfaces the resulting frayed edges and folds give physical form to that moment always in flux, that evades being fully captured.
